“Root of David, Lion of the Tribe of Judah” – A Victory Proclaimed through Worship

“Then one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep!
See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.
He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.’
Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne…”
(Revelation 5:5–6)
About three years ago, I was asked to lead worship at the YWAM Korea National Gathering. It was my first time leading in such a large setting, and even as I participated in someone else’s leading worship before my turn, I was very nervous.
It was then that I heard the voice of God:
“You are of the tribe of Judah. Roar with Me, the Lion of the tribe of Judah!
Proclaim My victory so that YWAM may roar again with Me!”
In response to that voice, I led the worship. To my surprise, as the worship ended, a staff member came to me and said,
“The Lord is saying you are the tribe of Judah. He is giving you a heart to roar with Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah.”
At that moment, I felt God’s heart stir even deeply and powerfully within me.
The song had already been composed during my time in the MP (Mission Perspective) seminar, but through that encounter, it found its spiritual completion. Since then, I continued refining the song in personal worship times, praying that YWAM would roar again with Jesus.
About a year ago, through the Worship Ministry Team, I received a word: “New songs declaring what God has done, is doing, and will accomplish within YWAM must once again resound throughout the nations.” I was encouraged to be part of opening that door.
So I completed this song “Lion of the Tribe of Judah” and have since proclaimed Jesus’ victory as the Rood to David through worship whenever I’ve had the opportunity.
The day will surely come when a countless multitude from every generation and nation
will stand before His throne, worshiping and adoring the victorious Lord for all eternity.
For that day, God’s mighty hand will continue to stir the worship of YWAM.
YWAM, roar again with Jesus, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah!
